Day 1

My first full day in Boston was eventful to say the least. To start my day, I walked down the icy stairs to get to the car. Rather than walking down the stairs, I took a tumble down the stairs. Once I got to America's Test Kitchen, I was introduced to everyone from the three different departments of America's Test Kitchen. The three groups were Cook's Illustrated, Cook's Country, and the books team. Then as I was introduced to the people I would be working around. ( The people around my desk.) Right as I began to settle down the daily groceries came in. When I went down to help, I saw TONS of food. It was all in large quantities too. All of the food that gets brought in is from a large grocery list that everyone who is under America's Test Kitchen. Then, when the food comes in, the list gets printed off and the food is separated by whoever ordered it. Rather than just separating the items each item must have a orange sticker so the people working on separating the food can write who it belongs to. This happends everyday. Then I went back upstairs and I worked on converting people's comments about different brands of different food items. That took up most of my time today, because it was really time consuming. That was the end of my work day. (Here's where it gets really exciting). I rode public transportation. I took the bus to the spot closest to my brother's house where I am staying. I was told which stop to get off of, the one by the bank. So I got off at the bank and soon found out that there are more of these type of banks next to the stops of the bus that I was on. I eventually found my way after trudging through the cold weather and had a nice greeting from my brother's dog when I found my way home.

Question of the Day: Why do Northerners not eat lunch?
